About The Food Chain.
The Food Chain is not a chain of shops. The Food Chain denotes a chain that begins from the Soil, nurturing of the soil with no touch of manmade chemicals, supporting the farm animals, developing the nitrogen and carbon cycle that gives the food which almost eliminates the need for medicines. Keeping this chain in mind we the farmers at TFC produce raw products to you in Oman. These are then milled in the TFC Al Wadi Kabir shop daily to maintain its freshness. The entire idea is based on the ancient wisdom of our ancestors about natural, pure food. This also gives us another advantage. Our soil is very precious. Growing food with TFC philosophy enriches the soil while the synthetic chemicals abound in soil damage it for a long -long time to come. Soil conservation is most important to us as the growing population will need more soil that is fertile and can produce enough food for the next gen. At TFC we consider this as our responsibility. Our farmers, not only use natural fertilizers only but take care of the soil as it’s our mother. We keep it covered for life to take place. We do not call the remains of our produce as ‘Farm Waste’ as we know that it is not a waste. We mulch it to cover the soil. We recycle it to keep the nature support for our farms. You can see this happening in your own garden by fllowing TFC soil conservation strategy that all forms of life flourish in harmony with nature. Show this to your children and you are nurturing a sense of harmonized community thought in them.
We have dream at our forest … in India as well as in Oman.
I was told, like everyone else, that nothing grows under a big tree. Well, it may be so metaphorically. But, as a child I always had this question that in forest we see all life forms including small and big keep growing together. In fact all I know now after almost 50 years that these life forms in forest support each other. Precious plants such as Giloy (Ayurveda Sage Charak refers to it as ‘Amrutvel’) and Shatavari grow on their own without our knowledge. The so called ‘Tadaka’ in Indian cooking consists of many forest products which are well known herbs with medicinal values.
It is my strong personal belief, that by using manmade chemicals with a desire to grow more and bigger in size and shape, we have lost many values of naturally grown foods. TFC’s objective is to bring back the natural foods to your table. The epidemic of Covid, brought back the attention to natural medicines (Herbal) once again. TFC is providing these herbal support to your health with knowledge and years of insight and wisdom for last many years.
